Mark Lapinski

I could hardly wait to get my hands on "Home Quilter", Mark Lapinski's magazine. Right there in the table of contents is my name. He published a quilt that I designed with Just Dreamy from Riley Blake Designs. I met Mark at Quilt Market in Pittsburgh Spring 2009. He asked me to design a quilt. As soon as I got home I went to work designing something really unusual. You can see the quilt and pattern in the HQ Oct/Nov issue. This is really exciting! I had no idea I would feel this way about being published. It's one of those 100 things I wanted to do before I die. I can just check that off my list.

These are some photos of the quilt taken in my yard before I sent the quilt to Mark.
I had so much fun designing this quilt. The idea same to me as I was flying home from market in Pittsburgh.

These are a few more close up shots. The line is very spring and fresh. I love the colors. I highlighted orange the most because I think it looks so great in this line of fabric "Just Dreamy"

I have buttons on the center of the flowers, which are needle turn applique.

This is the million dollar quilt. Each block represents the story behind a letter from her son who served a 2 year mission. Don't you think that is such a great idea. I love it.

I love all the hand embroidery on this quilt. It will be a classic.

This was a block exchange quilt. She did a great job of her colors and arranging of blocks. I think this quilt turned out great.

Dolly Book Tour

It is such an honor to be included with Elea Lutz ***DOLLY BOOK TOUR*** I have worked with Elea for many years and she always continues to inspire me with her fresh approach to color and design. She is super talented and tops it off with her sweetness that endears her to everyone. Elea's new book called Dolly has beautiful photography that keeps you looking through the pages over and over again.
After looking at all the lovely dolly themed projects I finally decided to make this cute Doll Dress Wall Hanging.

I used Little Dolly from Elea's recent fabric range. The colors and little mini designs are perfect for all the projects in her new book called DOLLY.

One block just wasn't enough...ha ha  I started thinking about the cute grand baby daughter  that will be coming in December.

I thought...how cute would it be to do 4 Doll Dresses...

and so I kept sewing and sewing...

and sewing...I loved every minute of  picking out each dress fabric...

I was able to fussy cut the little flowers fr…

Spelling Bee Sew Along

I'm so excited to be part of the Spelling Bee Book Sew Along byLori HoltofBee in my Bonnet for Fat Quarter Shop. There is so much to LOVE about this fun book that includes all upper and lower case letters. It also features complete instructions for 100 letters, numbers, punctuation and picture blocks in 6" and 12" block size, plus 18 quilt projects!

I used "Yes Please" fabric line by  My Mind's Eye for Riley Blake Designs. The color palette is black and off white with a touch  of rose gold. The simplicity of the colors lends itself to sophistication.

I have a fun project planned with the blocks I will be making.  Right now I have my binding by Vintage Door wrapped around my Binding Baby which is made by Shari for Doohikey Designs.

You can see how adorable my Binding Baby is and how she keeps my binding from unraveling while waiting to be used.

My letter today is "lowercase o". It is super quick and easy. I have made several blocks as I am preparing to ma…
