100 Block Tour

I am so excited to be part of the 100 Blocks Tour. This is my block design called, "Sew Little Time", in a fabric line from Riley Blake Designs called "Bloom and Grow" by My Mind's Eye. I was asked if I would submit a design and I was working on this block at the time for another project and thought I would get 2 projects out of one design. The design idea behind this block came from my quilt group in Alpine. Generically we call ourselves "That Alpine Quilt Group" Last Year was our 20th year together and in celebrating the years  we decided to have several people each month design a block representing our 20 years together. 20 years ago when there were only 8 of us (now there are so many I don't even know half of our quilt group, anyone is welcome to come) we used to bring our sewing machines to the little red church in Alpine and teach each other how to quilt. This is a representation of my sewing machine that I brought to my little quilt group a…

Find My Shower Curtain in International Quilt Festival Quilt Scene magazine!

What an exciting surprise!  There I was sitting in the airport waiting to leave Houston after an exhausting week at Quilt Market.  I opened my "International Quilt Festival Quilt Scene" magazine that  was given to me by Interweave press and right on page 92 was my Quilted Shower Curtain.  It is so much fun to have my projects published, and of course it's not bad to see your name published in a magazine either.

If you don't have your copy yet, run out and buy one.  This is the special 2nd annual issue and there are 140 pages of projects inside.

Houston Fall Quilt Market 2010

School House was a new addition for Cindy and I at Quilt Market. We taught how to embellish and use trims. We have added a new line of trims to Riley Blake Designs called "Sew Together." This trim line includes ric rac, pom poms, lace ribbon, designer ribbons, buttons and embroidered flowers, cherries and strawberries.
This is Riley Blake Designs getting ready for sample spree. If you have attended you know how crazy this place gets. It is a lot of fun to see all the buyers going nuts over the new fabrics.

This is the front of the Riley Blake Designs booth. This showcases "Isabella" A line designed by Lila Tueller. It has beautiful corals, periwinkle and a multi colorway that beautifully coordinates to make elegant quilts, bags and clothing.

This picture is fuzzy but  it is the only one I took. It showcases "Sweet Divinity." This line is designed by The Quilted Fish, better known as Amanda Herring. It's a very sweet line that shows well in quilts, c…
