July 2014 That Alpine Quilt Group

Wow! What a fabulous trunk show last night at Quilt Group.
You can't believe the talented people.
I wanted to go home and quilt all night...I was so inspired by these fabulous designs, colors and intricacy of the beautiful art these women have created!!!

This quilt was made from scraps from some women in Ghana. This lady was serving a mission there and collected these scraps and made this Oh My Gosh Quilt!
Isn't it amazing!!!
The colors were spectacular. What a treasure!!!

This is another one of the ones she made from Yoyo's

This is a quilt Paula had been working on that was inspired by the trunk show for tonight given by Ann Lewis...as you will see her quilts are beautiful.
I love the red and green combinations in this quilt.

A fun geometric block.

A pineapple quilt that was made from beautiful purple and green scraps.

This is the start of Ann Lewis' trunk show.

                                                          I love this quilt!!!

Ann is crazy addicted to cutting. She cuts a bazillion pieces and then begins to sew. She loves cutting and sewing blocks but rarely finishes. You can't believe the amazing work...

These are her spot quilts. On the back she has large dots but the purpose is to make eye spy quilts. He squares are 2" cut. They are for her grandchildren that she doesn't have...
they are to spot the object...cute idea...

This is her low volume quilt with all the pieces having a white background. It's a beautiful modern quilt effect...

Happy Sewing!!!

  1. I always love seeing quilts from That Alpine Group. I remember seeing my first Ohmygosh quilt made by one of your members. I have had it on my "someday" list for years, and every time I see it, wish I could just stop everything and start working on it. Thanks for sharing Jina.

August has come and gone. Here are the  pictures of That Alpine Quilt Group show and tell and then quilts by Konda who owns http://www.moosequilts.com/
I hope you enjoy all the fabulous quilts.

Love the red and yellow.

This is the million dollar quilt. Each block represents the story behind a letter from her son who served a 2 year mission. Don't you think that is such a great idea. I love it.

I love all the hand embroidery on this quilt. It will be a classic.

This was a block exchange quilt. She did a great job of her colors and arranging of blocks. I think this quilt turned out great.

Goldilocks Fabric Tour

Goldilocks Fabric Tour
Jill Howarth has designed a darling fabric line  based around the beloved storybook of  Goldilocks and the three bears.  Her eye for detail and color choices  make this line so sweet.

Jill designs for Riley Blake Designs and  you can find her whole collection  of adorable prints here...

Fabric always inspires my designs and I couldn't  help myself...I had to make my grand daughters  another cute mini quilt for  their doll bed...they like to play with when they visit.

These are 3" finished mini houses.  I like to think Goldilocks would have played  with the three bears in each of these cute houses:)

Notice the cute mushrooms, flowers,  bears and Goldilocks, of course.

The little girls are going to spend hours  of fun remaking this bed and using  this cute mini Goldilocks House quilt to cover their dolls. *** I was able to fussy cut some of the  cute motifs so they showed in the mini houses.  You could play I-spy and te

Farm Girl Vintage "Woolly Sheep"

Woolly Sheep is the last block on the  Farm Girl Vintage Friday Blog Hop Sew-Along.

It has been sew much fun sewing along  with Lori Holt, Fat Quarter Shop and all of you every Friday.

I have a pile of super cute Farm Girl Blocks that I can't wait to start piecing together to make a fabulous quilt.

I wanted my sheep to be white so I used low volume fabrics...I'm going to add some embroidery around the edge of the sheep to help the outline pop.

My Woolly Sheep and I  took a little field trip to Birdseye, Utah.  My sister-in-law and her husband  live on a ranch... It was the perfect spot for some  Farm Girl Vintage photos.

Don't you love this old farm truck!

The setting was a beautiful, peaceful, tranquil day.

We were able to take these photos with the perfect backdrop for Woolly Sheep.

Farm Girl Vintage features 45 different quilt blocks  in 6″ and 12″ sizes.  There are bonus projects and quilts galore.  The instructions are visual and easy to read and understand.   There are so …
