February That Alpine Quilt Group

I'm really feeling proud of myself for getting back in the saddle and blogging again. What better way to begin the year than to show my quilt group and their fantastic quilts and ideas.

Here is a beautiful quilt by Flora Gillman. I love her color choices and the applique on the birds is gorgeous!

So talk about Kaffe Fausett Love! This is such an amazing quilt. Look at the wonderful checkerboard border. It's just exquisite. The colors are divine!

The girl who did this quilt has only been quilting about six  months. These are large half square triangles but the best part is how she set them off by using the black and white polka dot. It makes such a statement.

Look at this cute idea for a boy. All the ties are from brothers and dads of a cute little grandson of Wendy Castle, who is getting baptized. She wanted to do something special for him on his eight birthday! Don't you love it!

This is one of Marian Gallians quilts from a Fons and Porter magazine edition. It was made from Riley Blake Designs One for he Boys fabric line.

This was another show and tell. Forgive me for not remembering whose it was but I took a picture because I thought the pattern and colors were unique.

Paula McKinley taught this class at Ruby's Inn and one her students finished this quilt and brought it to show.

Another fun Valentines quilt. It looks orange but the colors are actually reds and pinks. Super easy pattern but a great way to showcase the fabric.

Then begins our trunk show with the infamous Amy Smart of A Diary of a Quilter. She is adored by many. You can check out her blog here.

Here are just a few of her quilts as she tells a story of her quilting journey. She has a wonderful story of handing down the quilting bug through the generations from mother to daughter. She does it in such a humble, beautiful way and shares her knowledge of how she because addicted.

A few antique finds and treasures that she has inherited along the way.

One of her many quilts.

Her love of Sandy Clop quilts.

Sandy Clop scrap love again.

A fun quilt using Seaside of October Afternoon for Riley Blake Designs.

Love this modern take on half square triangles.

Showing her love of vintage sheets.

Dresden plate using stripes. Showcases this pattern nicely.

A fun Halloween scrappy quilt.

Well there were many more beautiful projects and quilts but I had to duck out because I was having a coughing fit. Still fighting this cold.

On to sewing and creating! Keep up the good work.

Happy Sewing!
