Wistful Winds Blog Tour

What is not to LOVE about these gorgeous colors
and beautiful designs by
Shari Butler of Doohikey Designs.
I am thrilled to be part of the
Wistful Winds Blog Tour!

I Love the bright yellows, hot pinks, vibrant reds,
calming aquas and warm oranges with a hint of green.
They are yummy and inspire one to create!!!

It was so hard to choose a project but
Shari requested something very girly.
As you know I Love everything about girls and
especially pretty things that girls wear!

The triangle pouch above was inspired by a spoonful of sugar
and you can find their tutorial here.
I made this cute triangle pouch for "lala's" lipstick.

This is the "Sunny Dress" pattern by my
pattern company called Butterfly Kisses
I Love this pattern because it can
showcase many colors and prints from the
Wistful Winds
fabric collection.

When I designed this pinafore pattern many years ago
I needed something that would showcase a variety of fabrics.
This pattern worked perfectly:)

My cute grand daughter is modeling this sweet pinafore...
she can't wait to eat her cupcake.

Shari's colors and designs from Wistful Winds
blend together so well.
There are beautiful florals, sweet dots,
bold stripes,tone on tone patterns,
and a few geometric prints
to help give this fabric line a modern vibe.

You can see we were lucky to capture one of those beautiful
fall days up American Fork Canyon in Utah.

The sun is still shining and there is a slight breeze in the air.

There is nothing better than a picnic up the
canyon...listening to the running water
and taking in the gorgeous scenery.

Thank you so much for joining me in celebrating the
debut of Wistful Winds.
You can purchase all these beautiful fabrics from
your local quilt store.
You can also view the whole fabric line
here at Riley Blake Designs.
Thank you Shari for letting me be part of your
beautiful story!!!

Below are the many designers involved in this tour.

August That Alpine Quilt Group

August has come and gone. Here are the  pictures of That Alpine Quilt Group show and tell and then quilts by Konda who owns http://www.moosequilts.com/
I hope you enjoy all the fabulous quilts.

Love the red and yellow.

This is the million dollar quilt. Each block represents the story behind a letter from her son who served a 2 year mission. Don't you think that is such a great idea. I love it.

I love all the hand embroidery on this quilt. It will be a classic.

This was a block exchange quilt. She did a great job of her colors and arranging of blocks. I think this quilt turned out great.

Dolly Book Tour

It is such an honor to be included with Elea Lutz ***DOLLY BOOK TOUR*** I have worked with Elea for many years and she always continues to inspire me with her fresh approach to color and design. She is super talented and tops it off with her sweetness that endears her to everyone. Elea's new book called Dolly has beautiful photography that keeps you looking through the pages over and over again.
After looking at all the lovely dolly themed projects I finally decided to make this cute Doll Dress Wall Hanging.

I used Little Dolly from Elea's recent fabric range. The colors and little mini designs are perfect for all the projects in her new book called DOLLY.

One block just wasn't enough...ha ha  I started thinking about the cute grand baby daughter  that will be coming in December.

I thought...how cute would it be to do 4 Doll Dresses...

and so I kept sewing and sewing...

and sewing...I loved every minute of  picking out each dress fabric...

I was able to fussy cut the little flowers fr…

Spelling Bee Sew Along

I'm so excited to be part of the Spelling Bee Book Sew Along byLori HoltofBee in my Bonnet for Fat Quarter Shop. There is so much to LOVE about this fun book that includes all upper and lower case letters. It also features complete instructions for 100 letters, numbers, punctuation and picture blocks in 6" and 12" block size, plus 18 quilt projects!

I used "Yes Please" fabric line by  My Mind's Eye for Riley Blake Designs. The color palette is black and off white with a touch  of rose gold. The simplicity of the colors lends itself to sophistication.

I have a fun project planned with the blocks I will be making.  Right now I have my binding by Vintage Door wrapped around my Binding Baby which is made by Shari for Doohikey Designs.

You can see how adorable my Binding Baby is and how she keeps my binding from unraveling while waiting to be used.

My letter today is "lowercase o". It is super quick and easy. I have made several blocks as I am preparing to ma…
